Mr Jalal obtained his DVM and MSc from Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh. He is passionate about health research and has experience in epidemiological studies of zoonotic pathogens. He is currently working on the global burden of neurocysticercosis in humans and animals.

Before joining Dr. Carabin's research team, he worked in two renowned poultry disease diagnostic laboratories in Bangladesh. He then joined CVASU's Department of Microbiology and Veterinary Public Health, as a member of the Fleming Fund Country Grant for Bangladesh team, whose aim is to establish an integrated antimicrobial resistance surveillance system in Bangladesh through the “One Health” approach.
