Angélique is currently pursuing a PhD in public health, with a specialization in global health, at the University of Montreal's School of Public Health. She holds a Master's degree in Integrated Management of Health Risks in Southern Countries (Université de Liège) and a bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences (National University of Rwanda).
As part of her PhD project, she is working on the development, estimation and validation of risk indices for mosquito-pathogen dyads in East Africa and Canada. Her research will provide a better understanding of the risks of mosquito-borne disease transmission in East Africa and Canada. It will also improve understanding of the competence of various mosquito species for different emerging pathogens in each context.
Her research interests include vector-borne zoonoses, antibiotic resistance and the application of the One Health approach.
